Carbon fibre prepregs
Prepregs are fibre reinforcements pre-impregnated with catalysed resin under pressure, temperature or using solvents with different weave patterns, fibre types etc.
The hardening agent for the resin system, a defined concentration of which is applied to the carrier material, is adjusted so that the materials can be stored for several days or months at room temperature without reaction, but they often also need to be kept cool to guarantee processing quality.
The range of uses for carbon fibre prepreg is as varied as the product itself. It can be processed using common methods or varied on a project-specific basis. Uses for our prepreg include high-quality optical applications and structural or flame-retardant composite components.
Our epoxy resin systems can be processed between 80 and 160 °C and are available with a UD carbon fibre base material of HT or HM carbon fibres or with different woven / non-crimp base materials.
